Product information

The Aranet PRO Base Station is the central hub for professional Aranet wireless environmental monitoring installations. It receives measurements from compatible Aranet PRO series sensors using Aranet Sub-GHz wireless communication and combines gateway functionality, local data storage and a web server in one device. This allows organisations to monitor multiple rooms, buildings or environmental measurement points from a central system.

The Base Station can be connected to a network by Ethernet or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and provides a browser-based interface for viewing, analysing and exporting sensor measurements. It can store up to approximately 10 years of measurement data for a 100-sensor installation and can also be used with Aranet Cloud.

HMS offers the Aranet PRO Base Station in 12-, 50- and 100-sensor capacity versions. The underlying system is scalable, with Aranet offering licence upgrades where additional sensor capacity is required later.

The Aranet PRO Base Station is particularly suited to schools, offices, healthcare environments, commercial buildings, warehouses and other multi-room or multi-sensor installations where individual Aranet PRO sensors need to be centrally monitored.

Standards & classification

The Aranet PRO Base Station is manufactured by SAF Tehnika JSC under the Aranet environmental monitoring product range.

Aranet identifies the PRO Base Station as an indoor environmental monitoring solution providing gateway, data-storage and web-server functionality.

The Base Station receives measurements from compatible Aranet PRO series sensors using Aranet Sub-GHz ISM-band radio.

Different regional radio versions are supplied according to applicable radio-frequency requirements. The appropriate regional version must be used for the country in which the system is installed.

Aranet provides separate 12-, 50- and 100-sensor capacity configurations and optional licence upgrades.

Optional third-party integrations including MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP and BACnet IP require the appropriate additional Aranet licence.

The Base Station itself does not measure CO2 or other environmental parameters. Measurements are supplied by compatible connected Aranet PRO sensors.

Fit & sizing guidance

Install the Aranet PRO Base Station indoors in a suitable central location with access to power and the required network connection.

Base-station position can affect wireless communication with sensors. For larger installations, consider building construction, walls, floors, metal structures and other obstacles when choosing the location.

Compatible Aranet PRO sensors can achieve long wireless transmission distances under favourable line-of-sight conditions, but actual indoor range will depend on the building and installation environment.

For complex or large installations, appropriate site planning or a radio site survey may be useful before permanently locating sensors and the Base Station.

Directions for use

1. Select the appropriate Aranet PRO Base Station sensor-capacity version for the installation.
2. Position the Base Station in a suitable dry indoor location.
3. Connect the supplied/appropriate power source according to the Aranet installation instructions.
4. Connect the Base Station to the local network using Ethernet or configure supported 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity.
5. Access the Base Station web interface according to the Aranet Quick Start Guide.
6. Configure administrator and user access as required.
7. Pair compatible Aranet PRO sensors with the Base Station.
8. Name and organise sensors according to rooms, buildings or monitoring locations.
9. Configure measurement displays, thresholds and alerts as required.
10. Confirm that each sensor has reliable wireless communication with the Base Station.
11. Configure Aranet Cloud connectivity if cloud-based access is required.
12. Configure optional third-party integrations only where the corresponding licence has been obtained.
13. Keep Base Station firmware current in accordance with Aranet recommendations.
14. Back up or export important measurement data where appropriate.

Warnings & use limitations

The Aranet PRO Base Station is designed for compatible Aranet PRO environmental monitoring sensors and should be configured according to the manufacturer instructions.
Use the correct regional radio-frequency version for the country of installation.
The Base Station requires a suitable power supply and network configuration.
The unit is intended for indoor use. Protect it from water, condensation, excessive dust, extreme temperatures and physical damage.
Wireless communication range depends on building construction, interference, sensor placement and installation conditions. Maximum line-of-sight range should not be interpreted as guaranteed indoor range.
Sensor-capacity limits depend on the installed Base Station licence.
MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP and BACnet IP functionality requires additional Aranet licensing.
Environmental measurements displayed or stored by the Base Station originate from connected sensors. Measurement accuracy and limitations therefore depend on the individual sensor being used.
The Base Station is not itself a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, medical device or life-safety system.
Network and user-account security should be configured appropriately for the organisation in which the system is installed.

Storage

Store and operate the Aranet PRO Base Station in a clean, dry indoor environment within the temperature and humidity limits specified by Aranet. Protect the unit from water, condensation, excessive dust, direct physical damage and extreme temperatures. Store disconnected equipment securely when not in use and retain the manufacturer documentation, power equipment and accessories with the Base Station.
