Product information

The Aranet4 HOME is a portable indoor air-quality monitor designed to provide clear, real-time information about carbon dioxide concentration and indoor environmental conditions. It measures CO2 using non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) sensing technology and also monitors temperature, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure. The large energy-efficient e-ink display allows key readings to be viewed directly on the device without requiring a phone or internet connection. Colour-coded CO2 indicators and optional audible alerts help users recognise when indoor CO2 levels are increasing and additional ventilation may be desirable. The Aranet4 HOME can also connect by Bluetooth to the Aranet Home app for viewing historical data, graphs and additional environmental information. Its compact battery-powered design makes it suitable for use around the home, office, classroom, meeting room, bedroom and other indoor environments.

Standards & classification

Aranet identifies the Aranet4 HOME as an indoor environmental monitoring device using non-dispersive infrared / NDIR technology for CO2 measurement.

The Aranet4 HOME is designed to provide environmental measurements and ventilation-related information. It is not a medical diagnostic device and does not directly detect viruses, bacteria, smoke particles or other airborne pathogens.

CO2 concentration in occupied indoor spaces can be useful as an indicator of how effectively exhaled air is being diluted and replaced by ventilation. CO2 readings should be interpreted alongside room occupancy, outdoor conditions, ventilation design and other relevant environmental factors.

Fit & sizing guidance

No facial fit or sizing requirement applies to this product.

For useful room measurements, position the Aranet4 HOME in the occupied area where it can sample representative indoor air. Avoid placing the unit directly beside an open window, ventilation outlet, heater, air conditioner, the wearer's face or another local source that could produce readings that are not representative of the wider room.

The portable design allows the monitor to be moved between rooms or locations as required.

Directions for use

1. Install two suitable AA batteries if they are not already fitted.
2. Place the Aranet4 HOME in the indoor area you want to monitor.
3. Allow the unit time to stabilise and display the current environmental readings.
4. View CO2, temperature and relative humidity information directly on the e-ink display.
5. Use the CO2 indication to help identify when indoor ventilation may need attention.
6. If desired, pair the monitor with the Aranet Home app via Bluetooth to view historical measurements, graphs and additional data.
7. Configure alert levels and device settings through the app where supported.
8. Follow the current Aranet user manual for calibration, configuration, battery replacement and detailed operating instructions.

Storage

Store and operate the Aranet4 HOME in a clean, dry indoor environment within the temperature and humidity limits specified by Aranet. Protect the monitor from water, condensation, excessive dust, direct physical damage and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if the device will be stored for an extended period where recommended by the manufacturer. Follow the current Aranet user manual for battery, storage and maintenance guidance.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Aranet4 HOME measure?

The Aranet4 HOME measures carbon dioxide concentration, temperature, relative humidity and atmospheric pressure.

What type of CO2 sensor does the Aranet4 HOME use?

It uses non-dispersive infrared, commonly called NDIR, technology to measure carbon dioxide.

Do I need a phone to use the Aranet4 HOME?

No. CO2, temperature and humidity readings can be viewed directly on the device display. Bluetooth connection to the Aranet Home app provides additional features such as historical graphs and settings.

Does the Aranet4 HOME need Wi-Fi?

No. The HOME model can operate as a standalone monitor and uses Bluetooth for connection to the Aranet Home app.

What does a high indoor CO2 reading mean?

In an occupied room, rising CO2 can indicate that exhaled air is accumulating faster than it is being diluted by fresh-air ventilation. Increasing ventilation may help reduce the concentration.

Does the Aranet4 HOME detect viruses or COVID-19?

No. It measures CO2 and other environmental conditions; it does not directly detect viruses or other pathogens.

Does the Aranet4 HOME measure air pollution particles?

No. It does not directly measure particulate matter such as PM2.5 or PM10.

Does it detect carbon monoxide?

No. CO2 and carbon monoxide are different gases. The Aranet4 HOME is not a carbon monoxide alarm.

What information is shown on the device?

The device displays key environmental information including CO2 concentration, temperature and relative humidity. Additional information including atmospheric pressure is available through the Aranet ecosystem/app.

How is the Aranet4 HOME powered?

It uses two AA batteries.

How long do the batteries last?

Aranet and its distributors state battery life of up to approximately four years under suitable operating and configuration conditions.

Can I move it from room to room?

Yes. The Aranet4 HOME is portable and battery powered, so it can be moved between indoor locations.

Where should I place the monitor?

Place it in a representative occupied area rather than directly beside an open window, ventilation outlet, heater or a person's face.

Does it have alarms?

The device provides visual CO2 indication and can provide audible warnings when configured for elevated CO2 levels.

Can I view historical CO2 readings?

Yes. Pairing the monitor with the Aranet Home app allows historical data and graphs to be viewed.

Is an internet connection required?

No internet connection is required for normal standalone monitoring on the device itself.
