The Vitacore CAN99™ Black is a Canadian-made disposable headband respirator designed to combine high particulate filtration with a close facial seal and comfortable breathing performance. Vitacore describes the CAN99 Black as an N95 or N99 surgical respirator equivalent with 99PFE-L3 performance and greater than 99% filtration. The respirator uses a headband fitting system and a fully aluminium nosepiece to assist positioning and seal around the nose. It is also rated by the manufacturer as ASTM Level 3 for fluid resistance, with greater than 160 mmHg blood penetration resistance. The black design provides an alternative to conventional white respirators while retaining a professional headband-style fit. CAN99 Black respirators are manufactured in Canada and are graphene-free.

Fit & sizing guidance
The CAN99 Black is a tight-fitting headband respirator. Both headbands should be positioned correctly so the respirator sits securely against the face, and the aluminium nosepiece should be moulded around the nose to assist the seal.
A close seal between the respirator and the face is important for effective respiratory protection. Facial hair, jewellery, eyewear or other items that interfere with the sealing surface may prevent an adequate seal.

Directions for use
Before use, inspect the respirator and headbands for damage, contamination or deterioration.
1. Hold and open the respirator so it can be positioned comfortably over the nose, mouth and chin.
2. Position the respirator against the face with the nosepiece at the top.
3. Pull the headbands over the head and position them so the respirator is held securely against the face.
4. Adjust the respirator around the chin and sides of the face.
5. Using both hands, mould the aluminium nosepiece around the nose and cheeks to help create a close fit.
6. Check the facial seal before entering an area where respiratory protection is required.
7. Reposition the respirator and headbands if leakage is detected around the edges.
