The Trident P2 Valved Disposable Respirator is a close-fitting three-panel respirator designed for protection against suitable mechanically and thermally generated particulates including dusts, mists, fumes and smoke. Its exhalation valve is designed to reduce heat and moisture build-up within the breathing zone, making the respirator particularly useful where wearer comfort is important during physically demanding or warmer working conditions. The three-panel construction provides structural integrity while allowing the respirator to conform to the face, and Trident's proprietary adjustable foam nose seal assists facial sealing while helping reduce eyewear fogging. The respirator uses head straps, offers low breathing resistance and is latex free. Each respirator is individually batch numbered and packaged. Fit & sizing guidance
HMS offers the Trident P2 Valved Disposable Respirator in Small, Regular, Regular with Extended Length Head Straps, and XX Large options.
The Regular Extended Length Head Strap version retains the Regular respirator size but provides additional head-strap length.
Correct respirator selection and fit are important. The three-panel design is intended to provide a form-fitting seal while accommodating a range of facial shapes and sizes. The proprietary adjustable foam nose seal should be carefully moulded around the nose bridge and cheeks.
A close facial seal is essential for effective respiratory protection. Facial hair within the sealing area can interfere with the seal. Trident recommends that wearers be clean-shaven where the respirator contacts the face.
A fit check should be performed every time the respirator is fitted. Trident recommends fit testing in accordance with AS/NZS 1715:2009 and applicable workplace requirements.
Directions for use
Always read and follow the current Trident wearer instructions.
Before fitting, inspect the respirator and ensure both head straps are untwisted.
1. Select the appropriate HMS size or strap variant.
2. Position the respirator in the palm of the hand with the nose section towards the fingertips and the head straps over the back of the hand.
3. Open the upper and lower panels and form a bend in the foam nose seal.
4. Place the lower panel beneath the chin and position the upper panel and foam nose seal over the bridge of the nose.
5. Holding the respirator in position, place the upper untwisted head strap over the head and onto the crown.
6. Draw the lower untwisted strap over the head and position it below the ears around the back of the neck. Do not cross the head straps.
7. Using both hands, mould the foam nose seal around the nose bridge and cheeks to achieve a close fit.
8. Perform a fit check by covering the front of the respirator with both hands and inhaling and exhaling sharply.
9. If air leaks around the nose or cheeks, readjust the foam nose seal.
10. If air leaks around the respirator edge, adjust the head straps and reposition the respirator.
11. Do not enter the work area unless a successful fit check can be achieved.
When removing a potentially contaminated respirator, avoid touching the respirator body. Remove it using the head straps, dispose of it appropriately and clean your hands.

Storage
Store unused Trident P2 Valved respirators in their original individual packaging and outer box in a clean, cool and dry environment. Protect the respirators from contamination, excessive moisture, direct sunlight, extreme temperatures and physical damage.
